Music composer Shravan tested Covid positive after visiting Kumbh with wife, says son – Movies News

Music composer Shravan Rathod, who died of Covid-19 complications on Thursday (April 22), had visited the Kumbh Mela with his wife a few days ago. His son, Sanjeev Rathod, said that the late musician had complained of breathlessness on returning from the mela in Haridwar. Later, both of them tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Shravan and music director Nadeem Saifi were a popular composer jodi of the 90s. The duo was popularly known as Nadeem-Shravan.

SAMEER RATHOD SAYS SHRAVAN AND HIS WIFE VISITED KUMBH MELA

Shravan Rathod’s son Sanjeev, who is also fighting Covid-19 in Mumbai’s Sevenhills hospital, told indianexpress.com that his father and mother had visited Kumbh Mela recently. He said that they returned from Haridwar a few days before testing positive for Covid-19. He said, “We had never thought our family would have to go through such tough times, my father passed away, I am Covid positive and so is my mother. My brother is also positive and is in home isolation, but since our father has died, he is being allowed to do the final procedures to do last rites for our father.”

Sanjeev added, “My mother, Vimladevi, and I are at Sevenhills, she is in the bed right next to me, and she is inconsolable, but we both are recovering.”

SHRAVAN RATHOD DIES OF COVID COMPLICATIONS

After battling the virus for days in Mumbai’s SL Raheja Hospital, composer Shravan Rathod breathed his last on Thursday evening. He had severe heart issues and was also diabetic. Covid-19 aggravated the situation. His son, Sanjeev Rathod, is also battling Covid-19. Many Bollywood celebrities took to social media to pay tribute to the late musician.

NADEEM IS IN DEEP PAIN AFTER SHRAVAN’S DEMISE

Nadeem Saifi, with whom Shravan composed several hit songs in the 90s, mourned the loss of his partner and dear friend. Speaking to Bombay Times, Nadeem said, “I am in deep pain as I say this but my friend and my companion, my partner of so many years is no more. It has left such a vacuum. I spoke to his son who was inconsolable. We had been in touch on a regular basis for the last several days when Shravan complained of ill-health and had to be moved to a hospital. Shravan’s wife and son are also unwell and are still in the hospital.”

Shravan Rathod is survived by two sons, Sanjeev and Darshan. Some of the hit songs composed by Nadeem-Shravan include Aashiqi, Dil Hai Ki Maanta Nahin, Saajan, Pardes, Sadak and Dil Ka Kya Kasoor, among others.
